I ordered the standard Designer's Choice arrangement and had them delivered the next day to my partner for her birthday. Since she loves and knows a lot about flowers, I asked that they include an unusual flower or two if they had any available that day. It turned out beautifully, and her first comment was "there was one flower I've never seen in a floral arrangement before"! I have dealt with Hedges flowers multiple times and I have always seen their best. They work hard to provide beautiful bouquets for their clients. My last request did not have the flowers I wanted available and they substituted the most glorious arrangement! I will use them over and over.

I had to be away for our anniversary and wanted to send flowers to my wife. I chose a designer's choice bouquet and my wife LOVED the arrangement. Originally founded in 2001, Hedge was purchased in 2007 by Karen Walker. A Vermont native and long-term Charlottesville resident, Karen is a talented designer with over a decade of experience creating arrangements and orchestrating events. She is constantly sourcing new flowers from an array of suppliers and growers, as well as occasionally foraging on her own property! Residing on a farm on the outskirts of Charlottesville, Karen is always looking for ways to further her commitment to sustainability. For over a quarter century, Karen Walker has been a proud and prominent resident of Charlottesville. Her love of culture, nurturing, and nature is shown through her involvement in the local community. Live Arts, New City Arts, The Women's Initiative, The Haven, and Wild Virginia are just a few of the organizations that Karen supports. As a founding member of Wild Virginia, she has helped to take tremendous steps forward in preserving the Jefferson and George Washington forests. An animal lover, Karen has a special place in her heart for wild animals and advocates for increased protection for wildlife in the Blue Ridge. Karen took ownership of Hedge Fine Blooms in 2007, and has worked with her talented team to make it the area’s premier retail and studio event florist. Hedge is the perfect venue for her innate talent, winning personality, and delight in beautiful blooms. Karen particularly enjoys setting up the fresh flower table at the center of the store, which she considers a gift to the local community. Karen cares deeply about all of Hedge’s visitors, from her corporate clients and excited couples planning their weddings to visitors taking in the table and picking out a few stems to take back to the office (and canine visitors are always welcome as well, with treats kept behind the counter).
